Questions people ask

What is Has Brains AI?

Has Brains AI is a learning site for software engineers who build with AI. It publishes articles, AI news, and text and video courses about models, agents, skills, MCP and AI-assisted development, and a Brain Lab of ready-made agents, skills, prompts and plugins you can download and use in your own projects.

What is an AI agent?

An AI agent is a program that uses a language model to work towards a goal in steps. It reads the task, decides what to do next, calls tools such as a file reader, a shell or a web search, looks at the result, and repeats until the task is done or it needs a person.

What is a skill for an AI agent?

A skill is a packaged set of instructions, and sometimes scripts and reference files, that an agent loads only when a task needs it. It teaches the agent one job, such as reviewing code or writing a report, so the agent does that job the same way every time without a long prompt.

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI models to tools and data. A program exposes its functions through an MCP server, and any assistant that speaks MCP can discover and call them, so one integration works across many AI clients instead of being rebuilt for each.

What is AI-assisted development?

AI-assisted development is writing software together with an AI model. The model drafts code, tests and documentation, explains unfamiliar code, and finds bugs, while the engineer sets the goal, reviews every change and decides what ships. Done well it removes routine work and leaves the design decisions to people.

Is Has Brains AI free?

Partly. Public articles and AI news need no account. A free account opens the free articles, the free courses and the free preview lessons of paid courses. A paid membership opens everything: all articles, all text and video courses, and every download in the Brain Lab. You can start free and upgrade at any time.
